Snow Shovelling

I’m not going to to point out the obvious by telling you how bad the snow has been these past few days, or moan about how my flight home from a little break away was diverted from Birmingham Airport to Manchester adding an extra 5 hours on to my journey, or even say that the Betterware car park resembles Narnia and we’re all a little worried about driving our cars out this evening…

Luckily for us, we have a warehouse full of stock that will help us out, with the last problem at least!

Everyone knows that when it snows in the UK we can expect chaos on the roads, problems with public transport, “ice-rink” pavements and school closures.  If you’d like to be a little more organised when it snows and not worry about getting your car off the drive or whether you’ll fall over on your way to work then fear not.  We can help!

Winter Weather Survival Tips

Driving in snow can be both scary and stressful, not only do you have to worry about finding your car under the blanket of snow, you also have to worry about pulling off the drive, driving down un-gritted side streets and concentrating on your braking distances, other road users and any black ice patches.  It’s enough to make you want to stay at home!  Unfortunately for most of us a snow day isn’t an option and we have to pull on our gloves, wrap up in our scarves and carry on.
So if you do have to venture out make sure you have all the proper equipment to hand.

De-icing and Snow Shovelling.

We have a number of tools to help you dig your car out of the snow and de-ice the windows, our most popular include the Anti Frost Windscreen Cover and our Ice Scraper with Fleece Lined Glove.  The windscreen cover helps to prevent ice and frost forming on your windscreen and the fleece lined glove will keep your hand nice and warm whilst you scrape the ice from your other windows.

Our Compact Steel & Lightweight Folding Snow Shovel is handy to keep in the car should you get stuck and have to dig your way out. (We may be needing a few of these this evening!)  This Durable Steel and Polypropylene Snow Shovel is perfect to keep in the garage.  It can help you clear your pathways and drive for an easier exit.

Our Spray On Tyre Grip will help you get a better grip of the roads and our Non-Skid Mats will help in snowy or muddy conditions, letting you get a better grip of the road, so you can pull away easier.

Venturing out in the Snow

If you don’t drive, or just don’t fancy it but have to leave the comfort of your home then make sure you bundle up warm and take precautions so as not to slip over.  Our Snow and Ice Grips are an all time Betterware Best Seller and even made their way on to the ITV’s This Morning.  Wear them over your shoes for extra grip in icy and snowy conditions.  They are available in sizes 1-5, 6-11 and are also available for high heeled shoes.

Most of us now own a smart phone with a touch screen and I think we can all sympathise with someone who gets a call on their phone whilst wearing gloves.  You have to battle with your gloves to pull them off in time to answer the call, 9 times out of 10 you’ve got bags, children or umbrellas to juggle with so chances are you miss the call – not to mention that if you do take the call your poor bare hand freezes as you clutch the phone to your ear. Don’t worry we’ve though of everything.  Gloves you can wear AND use your touch screen phone.  Genius.  Our Touch Screen Gloves are made with special touch screen finger tips allowing you to operate your phone whilst keeping your hands toasty.

Hot Water Bottle Wheat BagStay in and Stay Cosy

There’s nothing nicer on a freezing cold and snowy day than staying in snuggled under a blanket in front of the fire.  Perhaps you’ve been out with the children building a snowman or have just got in from work – it’s cold out there so warm up under one of our new cosy animal print throws, available in cream and red.  Our Mini Oil Filled Radiator will help you heat up a room, even when you switch it off.  It stays warm and continues to heat up a room long after you’ve turned it off – saving you electricity.

No matter how much you heat your home, if you have a draughty door or window you’ll still feel the chill, not to mention waste valuable heat and money.  Our collection of draught excluders will fit around most doors, windows and even your letterbox helping you contain heat and stop wintry air from invading your cosy home.

Of course for extra warmth, perhaps for heating up your bed so it’s nice and warm when you sink into it, there’s always a microwavable wheat bag.  Simply pop one of these wheat bags into the microwave for the directed amount of time and you’ve got yourself a nice warm treat.

Have fun in the snow, build snowman, igloos and any other pieces of art you can create, throw snowballs, go sledging but remember to wrap up warm, watch your step and be careful!

Happy Snow Days!
